Aunt Kay's Corner

Aunt Kay

Aunt Kay Hardy was a loving family member and friend whom was always willing to help those that were less fortunate than her. Through her compassion and empathy toward others, she was able to touch countless lives and through Circle of Life, an organization and cause that she was deeply passionate about, her story will continue to positively impact generations of students. altHer courage, compassion, strength, and drive throughout her life and most importantly, during her battle with cancer will never be forgotten and will continue to reflect the core values represented by Circle of Life members for years to come. Most importantly, from the beginning stages of Circle of Life, Aunt Kay reiterated her support for the organization and the scholarship by always possessing the most important value reflected in each Circle of Life member: The Ability to Believe.

Aunt Kay, the aunt of the founding Chief Operating Officer, Myles Grote, graced the Indiana University Circle of Life with the first large financial contribution in the late spring of 2005.  The contribution meant volumes for many reasons.  Most importantly, she represented one of the first financial believers in our cause by donating $1,000 at a time when not even a visual logo had been created.  Nearly half a year later she was diagnosed with life threatening cancer.  In battling her cancer she continually believed and supported all those students involved in the Indiana University Circle of Life.  She was not able to attend the inaugural mini marathon due to the the advancement of the cancer.  In the winter of 2007, Aunt Kay Hardy, passed away.

Aunt Kay's Corner

In her honor Circle of Life is designating, Aunt Kay's Corner, to all those who have lost love ones and/or have survived cancer.  Our hope is that this knowledge and awareness will further generating and grow national support for our scholarship endowment, which once financially filled will be the largest cancer survivor scholarship in the nation.
